His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh sadly passed away on 9th April 2021, at the age of 99. A huge force for good in the equestrian world, his contributions and commitment have left an unequalled legacy.
Combining the best qualities of both horsemanship and sportsmanship, the Duke competed at the highest level in multiple disciplines during his life. He administered and led the International Equestrian Federation in one of the sport’s most successful phases; starting and supporting new equestrian disciplines, and even utilising his engineering interest to develop state of the art carriages. Elsewhere, his genuine and engaged patronage of the Pony Club encouraged youth involvement in the sport at the grassroots levels.
