My heart goes out to Her Majesty and the Royal Family. Words cannot replace the hole left in their life. HRH the Duke of Edinburgh will be sadly missed, but his equestrian legacy will live on from his inspirational invention of carriage driving trials, his support of RWHS and his indirect promotion of Cleveland Bays through competing successfully with a team of four CBx 's . RIP.

I remember my first ever driven dressage test, up the centre line only to realise that my judge was Prince Phillip! Half way through I went wrong (because I had learnt one movement back to front!) and he was so lovely even getting out the car and showing me my error and then said I could start again! The next day on the marathon course 3 black range rovers slowed down next to us and he waved and asked how we were doing and hoped I had learnt the obstacles better than my dressage!! A Wonderful memory of a wonderful man.
A true horseman, a gentleman and an extraordinary family man. He will be missed for a very long time. My thoughts are with the Queen and his family.
My deepest, warmest and most heartfelt condolences in this sad time.
It was so special - as a complete amateur - to be able to bring my Welsh Cob Leo to Royal Windsor Horse Show in May 2012 to compete in the Veteran Ridden and In-Hand classes.
What a unique and inclusive show to allow me to compete alongside professionals, and stable at this fantastic venue. Leo's stable was opposite the Canadian Mounties and being 'backstage' is an experience I will never forget.
Thank you for your RWHS legacy.
R.I.P. HRH Duke of Edinburgh.
Thank you for all you have done for the equestrian sport, but especially for the driving sport. Without you, this part of the equestrian sport wouldn't have become such a great attention.
I would like to express my thanks to a man who was very dear to us.
I have been lucky to meet him in person and to enjoy his interest in the driving sport. His support for our sport has been unforgettable.
Thanks for everything you did for our driving sport.
You go well up there. RIP.

Thank you Sir for all you gave to the equestrian world. So many have benefited and enjoyed so much from your inspiration and vision.
I remember as a child in the evenings being taken ten minutes up the road to look at HMY Britannia, at anchor in Loch Caolisport, all lit up - it was an amazing sight I remember. This happened over many summers when the Royal Family sailed the West Coast of Scotland. I still live on that road. Wind forward fifty years and in 2016 I was volunteering at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. I was on my way to my shift at 7.30 am when from behind me came Prince Philip driving his horses. On going past me and doffing his hat he wished me a good day. It was a good day. I hope now that Prince Philip can rest in peace, he has given so much to so many. From the recent news coverage there is just so much I did not realise he achieved, suggested, advised or was part of, continually trying to improve things for everyone.
Thank you Sir.
I would like HM the Queen to know that she and her family are firmly in my thoughts.
For everything you have done for all our equine disciplines - we thank you from the bottom of of our hearts. The equine world will miss your drive, initiative and foresight in making our world open up to everyone. You will be missed. RIP your Royal Highness.
In remembrance of an exceptional man who devoted his life to the service of this country and an incredible and constant support to Her Majesty the Queen. Thank you sir, you will be greatly missed.
Condolences to Her Majesty and your family. Thoughts and prayers are with them all at this very sad time.
The world is a poorer place for your passing. You were such a positive force in the world and in particular for the horse world. As a dressage rider, I sometimes find controlling even one horse daunting and I am using my seat and legs and voice. You rode assertively and took that into carriage driving and controlling four horses through tricky obstacles. The energy and inspiration you brought to other equestrians throughout your life will never be replaced. I am greatly saddened by your passing. Be assured that your legacy will long endure. My prayers go out for your grieving family. Rest In Peace
A true gentleman in every way and an absolute inspiration to the equine world and more . Rest in peace HRH xx

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, you have given up so much to stand by the side of this country’s Monarch. You have not stood still one minute, but just got on with things, created so many opportunities for young people and your involvement in the WWF has been amazing.
You shall be missed and we thank you for all that you have done and created for the United Kingdom and the world.
An amazing horseman who had a smile every time he drove his horses. Now you can drive your horses every day in the clouds.

Your outstanding devotion to duty , the Crown and Country is an outstanding example to us all. You have left a lasting legacy in so many spheres of our life. Thank you for all you have done.
I am so saddened to hear of the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh. Through my childhood and also my adults years, I have attended many equestrian events with my mother where the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen were present. He was always so kind and full of passion for what was going on and he always made time to speak with people. He was so dedicated to supporting equestrian sports and the development of new ideas. I, and I’m sure many others, will feel the passing of Prince Phillip to be a great loss, especially within the horse world. My thoughts and prayers are with the Queen and the whole Royal Family,
A wonderful man, who put his family first, but had the strength and fortitude to support so many others. Wise and strong in spirit. He will be deeply missed.
God bless you, you will be deeply missed.
